Banzai Pipeline - Best Surfing Beaches

Spectators, journalists, and photographers crowd the beach as well to watch the surfers ride the world's most dangerous waves.
The beach's pounding waves are for experts only; inexperienced surfers and swimmers have to wait for spring and summer waves to enjoy the waves over the sandbar. Even in summer, however, the waves breaking near the shore and the rip currents are something that swimmers have to negotiate.
Services and amenities: lifeguards, restrooms, showers, parking, picnic areas and tables, phones
5 unique things about Ehukai Beach Park
- Banzai Pipeline got its name in 1961 when surfing movie producer Bruce Brown stopped at the yet-unnamed surf site up Ehukai Beach Park. Coincidentally, a pipeline was being constructed on nearby Kamehameha Highway. California surfer Mike Diffenderfer who was with Brown at the time suggested to name the wave Pipeline. The name was first used in Brown's fourth movie, Surfing Hollow Days. Since the beach that fronted the pipeline was then known as Banzai Beach, Banzai was appended to Pipeline; hence the compound name Banzai Pipeline.
- Ehukai Beach Park is the home of the world's hardest and deadliest surf break, the Banzai Pipeline. More people (surfers and even photographers) have higher statistics of death or serious injury than in any other surf spot.
- Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, the world's greatest and most challenging surfing competition, is held here.
- Ehukai Beach Park covers three areas: the Ehukai Beach, Banzai, and Pipeline.
- The sub-plot of the Hollywood film "Blue Crush" starring Kate Bosworth was about shooting the Pipeline.
The Best Beaches of Greece for Holidays
Most resorts have private beaches beyond the public beach area and the water’s edge. Visitors staying in the resorts, apartments and beach clubs here enjoy a quieter beach experience. In the same time, many resorts offer all inclusive vacation packages, that are the best way to really enjoy relaxed beach holidays. Athens can be a good platform where from tourists can explore other regions of Greece like: Corinth, Epidaurus, Makedonia with its capital city Thessaloniki and Mycenae. The busiest and best-known beach resort on the island is Skala Eresou on the west coast which attracts a mixed bag of holiday hordes – from north European package holidaymakers and hippy types to archaeologists and lesbian groups. The three-kilometre sandy beach here comes a close second to Vatera and offers all manner of tourist facilities including seafront tavernas with wooden dining platforms by the water.
With more than 2,000 islands, ranging from tiny atolls to the veritable continent that is Crete, maritime Greece is unmatched for sheer variety. Beaches, history, walking, cycling, water sports, festivals, food ecology: chances are if you want it, they’ve got it. Style bars in Heraklion (Crete) can serve the locals such vegan beery delights as Chimay and Hoegaarden. Blessed by Mother Nature, Crete delights the senses with its fertile valleys, mountain peaks, sacred caves, and fresh local goat cheese, basil, figs, and wine. This is a great place to explore (by car) and relax for a week if you’re not interested in island hopping.

The Mexican Riviera Beaches,Mexico
Once you"ve decided when to plan your Mexico beach vacation, you"ll next want to decide on a destination. Cancun beaches are the most popular for travelers from all around the world. The water is clean, the beaches are seemingly endless and the town of Cancun offers plenty of activities. Most travelers stay at a Mexico beach resort when staying at Cancun beaches, and there are certainly plenty to choose from in Cancun. Cancun beaches are famous throughout the world for exceptional scuba diving, in particular and any Mexico beach resort in the area will offer information about diving, as well as discounts on diving tour packages.
Tulum is another popular beach destination. Located on the Caribbean coast, Tulum is one of the prettiest beaches in all of Mexico and offers a lovely view of ancient Mayan ruins that overlook the beach to boot. Tulum is a great destination for beach lovers looking to relax and splash about in the water without a lot of the busy activity that characterizes more touristy towns like Cancun. Electricity more sparsely available in Tulum accommodations, however the sandy cove and calm waters of this beach location is the perfect place for a swim.
Cabo San Lucas is yet another famous Mexico beach vacation spot with miles upon miles of warm white beaches stretching along side Mexico beach resorts and well kempt golf courses. Playa Cemeterio, Playa Santa Maria, and Playa Costa Azul are a few of the beaches located just steps from downtown Cabo San Lucas. Playa Costa Azul is a favorite among surfers, while some of the more northern beaches offer excellent scuba diving.
Although the most coveted Mexico beaches can be found on the Caribbean coast, the Pacific coast also has a nice group of Mexico beaches. Puerto Vallarta is one of the more well known, particularly among divers who travel to the area for the migration of humpbacked whales each winter. Acapulco is another Pacific Coast favorite, with a huge collection of Mexico beach resorts all along the shore.

The Ultimate Jungle Beach Holiday (Santa Teresa, Costa Rica)

Costa Rica has long been a top destination of travellers from around the globe. It has something for everyone but the reasonably unknown and unspoilt beauty of the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, on the Pacific coast around Santa Teresa, is a hidden gem. It has a growing community of surfers and artisans from all over the world who have decided to make it their home. This has translated into a vibrant and colourful place to explore and chill out, with the perfect combination of a tropical beach town matched with quality restaurants and services.
It is quite a difficult place to get to but once you make the trip from either San Jose or Liberia (and please only travel in a 4x4 in the wet season!), it is very much worth the effort.
Here are my top 5 reasons for adding it to your hit list of places to visit:

Being in the tropics also means that the beaches are surrounded by lush, dense jungle, full of the sounds of howler monkeys and an abundance of huge palm trees. Pick coconuts and drink the fresh and naturally isotonic pipa juice from your hammock – it really is this idyllic. Our beaches recently won Trip Advisor's best beach in Central and South America.
There are rock pools between Manzanillo and Playa Hermosa between mid and low tide. Not only are these tidal pools breathtaking to see, but there are a whole host of little fish to share the experience with. This makes for stunning images for those budding photographers out there and it doesn’t cost a penny. When the tide is high, you wouldn’t even know they were there!

3. Yoga. Where there is surf, you will find yoga – and lots of it too. Whether you are into pilates, ashtanga or vinyasa flow, there are some breathtaking places to practise that are extremely reasonably priced. One of the most beautiful I would recommend, is Horizon, Playa Carmen, with inspiring vistas. A favourite and long established yoga teacher for the area is called Nancy Goodfellow. Nancy is based out of Prananar down in Hermosa and can be reached through www.pranamarvillas.com. I have been with some seriously advanced people in her class who have rated Nancy amongst one of the best in the world.

There are so many more reasons that you should think of coming to Santa Teresa – horse riding, buying freshly caught fish straight off the fishermen at Mal Pais, artisan organic farmers markets on Saturday’s or just slowing down for a few weeks, but for now, I hope that I have given you a taste for the Nicoya Peninsula. Come and enjoy it for yourselves.

Bahamas - a holiday paradise
The Bahamas are located just North East of Cuba, east of Mexico. The Caribbean Sea is South West of the Bahamas. The Bahamas consist of an archipelago formed of 700 islands in the Atlantic Ocean - a good number of these have been heavily developed on to capitalise on the tourism boom. The capital is a city called Nassau, on the island called New Providence.
The climate and surroundings are so good in the Bahamas that you will often see settings from the islands popping up on screensavers and posters relating to paradise - it is not hard to see why. A trip to the Bahamas can turn into a trip of a lifetime - certainly one of the best holiday destinations anywhere on the planet if you fancy abit of relaxation time lying on idyllic beaches soaking up a bit of sun.
